What are some of these Universities? Well, I’ve compiled a list of what I consider to be some of these universities. To start off my list is Harvard University located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Harvard University has been around since 1636 making it one of these esteemed educational institutions. Further down my list is Stanford University located in Stanford, California that has been around since 1891.

Al Jamiatul Ashrafia_ India: Al Jamiatul Ashrafia is a Deobandi Islamic school located in Lucknow, India. In 2009, Al-Jamiatul Ashrafia has expanded its range of studies from just Arabic, English and Urdu languages to Bengali and Persian. It is one of oldest madrasas in India.

Al-Azhar University_ Cairo: Al-Azhar University is a university in Cairo, Egypt. Established in 970 or 972 CE, it is Egypt's oldest degree-granting university and is one of the largest universities in Africa, with about 350,000 students. Al-Azhar's name refers to Zaytuna Mosque on its eastern side which dates back to 970 AD when it was founded by Fatimids as their mosque during their rule over Egypt.

Aligarh Muslim University_ India: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is one of India’s oldest and most renowned universities. Located in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, it was established as Madrasatul Uloom Musalmanan-e-Hind (University of Islamic Studies) by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan on 27 January 1875, making it one of India’s first modern universities.

Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University_ Saudi Arabia: Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Mughairy is president of Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University. Founded by King Abdulaziz al-Saud and named after his father, Prophet Muhammad ibn Abdullah, it became a public university in 1983. Today, it has more than 15 faculties and 20 research centers that offer bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and PhDs. The university has more than 24,000 students enrolled at its Riyadh campus alone and continues to grow rapidly.

Cairo University_ Egypt: is a university located on Cairo University Main Campus in Giza, Egypt. It was founded on November 28, 1908, as Anglo-Egyptian University by historian Sir Ernest Alfred Wallis Budge and became a fully independent university in December 1928. It is the second oldest institution of higher education in Egypt after Al Azhar University.

Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi_ Turkey: Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi is a university located in Trabzon, Turkey. It was established in 1969 as a technical high school. KTÜ offers degrees and diplomas ranging from two-year associate’s degrees to four-year bachelor’s degrees and five-year master’s degrees, as well as postgraduate doctorate degrees and diplomas. Université Cadi Ayyad_ Morocco: Cadi Ayyad University (UCAM) is a non-profit private institution of higher learning located in Marrakech, Morocco. UCAM was founded by Dr. Mustapha Carayol on July 3, 1993 and is part of Cadi Ayyad Holding, one of Morocco’s leading financial groups.

Other amenities on campus include recreational facilities such as football fields, basketball courts and handball courts. Students have access to academic resources through on-site computer labs.

Imam Ghazali Institute: Located in Bangalore, India, Imam Ghazali Institute is a Muslim school that teaches traditional Islamic studies. It has close ties with Al-Azhar University, Cairo and Darul Uloom Deoband. Students study Arabic, Islam and Urdu as well as modern subjects such as math and science. As an added bonus, if students complete their entire undergraduate degree at Imam Ghazali Institute, they are eligible for a Master’s degree from either of these universities without having to sit for further exams or tests.

It is one of biggest and oldest Madrasas of Bangladesh and has a large number of students from many foreign countries as well.

Darul uloom Deoband: It is one of India's most renowned, important and influential Islamic religious schools. It is located in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, India. It was founded by a Muslim scholar Maulana Muhammad Qasim Nanotvi (1850–1932) and Maulana Rashid Ahmad Gangohi (1829–1905). They were rector and vice-rector respectively at Darul Uloom Deoband.

Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama: It is one of Sunni Islam's most prominent Islamic institution, located in Lucknow, India. Founded by Maulana Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi, it is commonly referred to as Darul Uloom Deoband or simply Deoband.

Jamiah Islamiah Talimuddin (Dabhel): Jamiah Islamiah Talimuddin (JIT) was founded in 1963 by Maulana Abul Hassan Ali Hasani Nadwi, a leading figure of Islamic reformation. The Jamiah has continued his legacy and worked to provide sound religious, moral and social education through its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. This institute is one of India’s oldest premier Muslim institution known for its scholastic orientation towards Islamic studies and modern-day sciences.

Madarsa Mazahir Uloom: Madarsas, or Islamic schools, can be found throughout India.
